ADOPTS ORDINANCE 05-15-127 DECLARING WATER USE EFFICIENCY PRACTICES
AND WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES
BALDWIN PARK (June 10, 2015) – On May 5, 2015 the State Water Resources Control Board, under the direction of Governor Jerry Brown, adopted emergency regulations setting water use reductions for each California water supplier. As a result of these regulations, the Valley County Water District, a public agency that serves water to residents of portions of the City of Baldwin Park, the City of Irwindale, the City of West Covina, and the City of Azusa, has been requested to reduce its delivery of water by 16 percent.
On June 8, 2015, the Board of Directors of Valley County Water District adopted Ordinance 05-15-127 which provides customers with water use efficiency practices and water conservation measures needed to meet this goal. Valley County Water District requests that all customers review these new rules so that the 16% reduction goal can be met. Customers will also be notified that failure to comply with these water use efficiency practices and water conservation measures may subject them to fines up to $100.00 per occurrence.
Valley County Water District is committed to educating the public about our State’s historic drought and the water saving techniques needed to address it. Valley County Water District representatives will provide affected members of the public with water use efficiency and conservation material prior to assessing any monetary penalties.
