List of Customer Service Fees
Final Notice Fee
All second notice billing statements will be due approximately 15 to 20 days after they are processed and mailed/emailed. Valley County Water District will process a final notice door-hanger, deliver the final notice door-hanger to the water utility service address, and assess a $15 Final Notice Fee to any residential, commercial, and/or fire protection utility service account for which payment has not been received in response to the second notice billing statement.
Disconnection Notice Fee
All final notice door-hangers will be due approximately 2 days after they are processed and delivered. Valley County Water District will process a disconnection notice door-hanger, deliver the disconnection notice door-hanger to the water utility service address, disconnect and lock-off the water utility service at the service address, and assess a $25 Disconnection Notice Fee to any residential, commercial, and/or fire protection utility service account for which payment has not been received in response to the final notice door-hanger. In addition, if a service deposit is not maintained on the account for which water utility service is being disconnected, Valley County Water District may require a Service Deposit prior to reconnecting and reinstating the service at the water utility service address.
Returned Check Fee
Valley County Water District will process a returned check notice door-hanger, deliver the returned check notice door-hanger to the water utility service address, and assess a $40 Returned Check Fee to the utility service account for which a check remitted as payment is returned by the bank as non-negotiable and unpaid. Based on the established payment history, the residential, commercial, and/or fire protection utility service account may be disconnected and locked off at the water utility service address and may be assessed a Disconnection Notice Fee. In addition, if a service deposit is not maintained on the account for which water utility service is being disconnected, Valley County Water District may require a Service Deposit prior to reconnecting and reinstating the service at the water utility service address.
Cut Lock Fee
If any residential, commercial, and/or fire protection utility service account is turned-off at the request of the customer, or disconnected for non-payment, a representative of Valley County Water District will report to the water utility service address, operate the water utility service meter valve to the off position, and secure the off position with a pad lock. Only authorized Valley County Water District representatives are permitted to operate water utility service meter valves, to secure pad locks, and to remove pad locks. Valley County Water District will assess a $40 Cut Lock Fee to the responsible party if a pad lock is cut and/or removed without authorization.
Second Notice Fee
Valley County Water District will process and mail/email initial billing statements on a bimonthly basis for residential utility accounts and on a monthly basis for commercial and fire protection utility service accounts. All initial billing statements will be due approximately 15 to 20 days after they are processed and mailed/emailed. Valley County Water District will process and mail/email a second notice billing statement and assess a $2 Second Notice Fee to any residential, commercial, and/or fire protection utility account for which payment has not been received in response to the initial billing statement.
Unauthorized Usage Fee
If any facilities owned by Valley County Water District, including but not limited to residential services, commercial services, fire protection services, construction meter services, and/or public fire hydrants, are being used without consent and authorization, Valley County Water District will assess a $100 Unauthorized Usage Fee to the responsible party. Subsequent offenses will be assessed at a rate of $200 for the second offense and $400 for each offense successive to the second.
