The Water is Life Poster Contest is an annual contest for all students grades K-12 attending schools in the Valley County Water District’s service area.
The theme, “Water is Life,” relates to the stewardship and conservation of our precious natural resource, water. This means wise and efficient water use inside and outside of the home, at school, in the community, in business and industry, in agriculture, and in recreation.
How to Participate
Students grades K-12 in the District’s service area are eligible to participate. Students enter the contest by creating a poster following the District’s theme and contest guidelines. Click to download application and guidelines.
First 10 teachers to have their entire class submit posters will receive a gift basket from the District!
Teachers interested in having students participate in this contest can contact Jessica (JJoiner@vcwd.org, (626) 338-7301 ext. 216) to arrange for white paper and contest applications to be dropped off at their school’s main office.
The District’s Board of Directors judge the poster entries based on originality, color, complexity, and theme. Student winners will be contacted by email during the first week of June.
A first, second, & third prize winner will be selected from 4 grade brackets (k-2nd, 3rd-5th,6th-8th,9th-12th).
